Physical Education (P.E.)

Children have two hours of PE per week through which we develop the three areas of activity as set out in the National Curriculum – Dance; Games and Gymnastics.

Skills taught include those required for football; tag rugby; netball; kwik cricket and short tennis, as well as multi-skills. All pupils take part in a range of sports festivals and days.

We use our playground, grassed area and the all-weather pitch at Hyrstmount Junior School.

We are excited at the news from the Department for Education that we will be receiving funding to develop P.E. in schools.  We are already looking ahead and planning to ensure that our children gain real benefits from this funding.  Click on the link below for more information:
